Please help us in the FIGHT AGAINST CANCER.

Hi, my name is Jim Smyth; I work for Meridian Energy and live in Twizel

This year, Twizel is hosting the 2012 Relay for Life, to raise much needed funds for the Cancer Society. As a part of this I am willing to have my hair and beard shaved off, BUT only if I can raise a minimum of $5,000.

This is a cause that is very dear to my heart, having lost my Mum to bowel cancer last year, and also losing my only brother to melanoma when he was only 36.

As you can see, I am very partial to my hirsute features, having had my beard since 1972 and the hair since leaving the navy in 1983.

I am willing to risk it all for a worthy cause. My partner of 17 years has never seen my naked features & may very well take off in fright once doing so!!! A local restaurateur Troy Sheridan, of Shawty’s Café, has agreed to undertake the removal of my hair (eat your heart out Shrek) in the Twizel market place.

Please dig deep into your wallets and hearts to support this worthy cause.

THE BIG SHAVE OFF OF THE HAIR & BEARD WILL HAPPEN AT APPROXIMATELY 5.30PM ON SATURDAY 10TH MARCH AT THE RELAY FOR LIFE IN TWIZEL
